Rockhaven
is a
private home on a sunny hillside overlooking the vineyards of Napa
Valley. It is
situated halfway between Yountville and St. Helena on the eastern side
of the
Silverado Trail at the end of a private road, approximately 200 feet
above the
valley floor.
The
house is
California contemporary built in 1980 of redwood and glass. It has a
light open
feeling with vaulted ceilings, many large windows, neutral colors and
simple
furnishings. The house is oriented to the outdoors with decks off the
living
room, kitchen and three of the bedrooms. The eighteen by thirty-six
foot pool
sits between the house and the hillside. The landscaping is natural
with
oaks, toyons and manzanita among the rocks. There are no immediate
neighbors.
The
house is
approximately 3000 square feet and is build on three levels. There is
one
bedroom and bath on the ground floor. The living room, dining room,
kitchen and
second bath are on the first floor with a deck on one side and the pool
on the
other. Two bedrooms are one half floor above this and the fourth
bedroom and
bath are on the second floor. One of the baths has a shower/tub
combination, the
other two have shower only. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds and
one has a full
size.
